Welcome to Little Paws, Big Stories — the journal of Bali Street Paws.
I started this project because I care deeply about animals, and since moving to Bali, I’ve seen much more closely what life can look like for so many street dogs here. Some are sick and untreated. Some are constantly having puppies. Some belong to someone, but are still living in really difficult conditions. Once you start noticing it, it’s hard to look away.
Bali Street Paws began with a simple idea: to help in ways that are real, practical, and consistent. The project focuses on three main areas — sterilisation, treatment, and street projects.
Sterilisation matters because it helps prevent future suffering before it starts. Treatment matters because so many dogs are living with skin infections, mange, parasites, and other conditions that can actually be helped. And the street project side of Bali Street Paws is about working locally, one area at a time, to create change that feels tangible and real.
One of my first big goals is to reach 400 sterilisations in 15 months. That feels like a huge milestone to work toward, but not the end of the story — just the beginning of what I hope Bali Street Paws can become.
This project is being built step by step through community support, fundraising, t-shirt sales, events, donations, and learning from people already doing this work in Bali. I’m still learning all the time, and that’s part of why I wanted to start this journal.
I want this space to be honest. Not just the highlights, but also the process. The small wins, the difficult days, the people I learn from, the dogs I meet, and everything that goes into trying to build something meaningful from the ground up.
So this is the beginning.
